Covid-19 Notice

We are now open for routine in-person care. To keep you safe, we have made some changes and implemented procedures that meet Ontario Ministry of Health directives, as well as our regulatory college’s guidelines. To protect patients and staff, we are:

  • Asking staff and patients screening questions
  • Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and tools after each patient
  • Using protective physical barriers and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Following processes to support physical distancing
  • Adhering to all other Ontario Public Health Hierarchy of Hazard Control measures

St. Catharines Chiropractic & Health Centre is always committed to ensuring the highest standards of safety, but even more so during COVID-19. Below is an in-depth list of the various levels of precautions we are currently taking.

Clinic and Staff Guidelines & Procedures

  1. Physical distancing applies to all staff, practitioners, guests while in the clinic.
  2. Hygiene is key! Wash hands regularly for 20 seconds. Sneeze and cough into your elbow. Discard any tissues immediately after use. Tools utilized disinfected before being shared.
  3. NO walk-in patients accepted at this time. All patients must have scheduled appointments.
  4. All patient appointments will be modified to allow for appropriate spacing that allows minimizing personal interactions with others and ensures hygiene practices done effectively.
  5. Patients are encouraged to arrive at their appointment time. They will be directed immediately to a treatment room.
  6. Patients instructed to attend alone to appointments.
  7. Practitioners will NOT greet patients by shaking hands.
  8. Personal Protective Equipment: Practitioners will wear surgical masks. One mask is sufficient for a practitioner shift during appointments.
  9. SANITIZATION PROCEDURES BETWEEN PATIENTS:
    • The practitioner will wash their hands for at least 20 seconds with warm water and soap.
    • The clinic staff will immediately clean any area used with the patient with disinfected wipes or sprays. Cleaning includes equipment, treatment tables, door handles and any other item used.
    • Hand sanitizer utilized before treating the next patient.
  10. Practitioners are required to wear a set of clean clothes during their shift and are encouraged to change into their work only clothing at the clinic. They must change out of those clothes at the end of the shift for the commute home, and clothing worn during their shift is to be washed daily.
  11. Practitioners should not go anywhere after their shift and are encouraged to go directly home. They are strongly encouraged to shower immediately upon arrival at home.
  12. SANITIZATION PROCEDURES DURING THE DAY AND END OF DAY:
    • Deep clean all other areas of the clinic that are “traffic areas”. This includes reception desk, washrooms and other clinic areas.
    • End of day deep clean over and above COVID-19 protocol of treatment area used throughout the shift.
    • Cleaning is to be done with disinfectant wipes and/or sprays.

PATIENT GUIDELINES & PROCEDURES

    1. ALL Patients and visitors MUST wear a face covering. They will be requested to provide their own. Where that is not possible, we will provide a surgical mask.
    2. Patients will be required to review and sign a specialized consent form that verifies the answer to all COVID-19 screening questions is NO.
    3. Patients will be required to use hand sanitizer on all areas of hands and wrist before being moved to the treatment area.
    4. Patients should not touch their faces during their appointments.
    5. If patients need to cough or sneeze at any point, direct it into a tissue or their sleeve at the elbow. They will then be required to sanitize again.
    6. Patients should, at no time, even during speaking, direct their faces directly towards practitioners, but instead, away from them.
